We have been invited to participate in several upcoming fashion shows, and we couldn’t be more excited. If you would like to volunteer as a model, please let us know. We always try to use models from the club or group hosting the event; however, there are times when we have a few openings and would love to place some of you beautiful women in those spots.
We’ll also need all hands-on deck for each show. If modeling isn’t your thing but you’d be willing to help on show day, we would love to hear from you in this email. We’re currently compiling roles and want to ensure we support each club in a way that exceeds their expectations.
If you’re part of a club or group that hosts fashion shows, we would love to participate. It’s one of our favorite ways to take cYou Boutique on the road and meet you where you live, gather, and have fun.
As part of our process, we send questionnaires to our models. We ask a lot of questions—and I’ll let you in on a little secret. One thing we genuinely want to know is whether there’s any area of your body you prefer to camouflage so we can be sensitive to that when we style you. But we’re always hesitant to ask directly, because we care far more about what you love about yourself.
This reminded me of a lesson from my years coaching executives. I would ask them to list ten things they loved about themselves. The men—many of them very successful—would rattle off ten things with ease. The women, however, would immediately pivot to what they didn’t like. I would gently stop them and say, “No, no… what do you love?” And then they would tell me. So on our questionnaire, we simply ask what you love—and trust that we’ll learn the rest without ever needing to ask.
Now, I’m not going to tell you to stop doing that, because I do it too. And honestly, I love that we are humble, honest, and such good communicators that we naturally balance what we love with what we don’t. We really are so cool.
We’re in a season of life where we don’t have to pretend. We know what we like and what we don’t. But I want to encourage you to step just a little outside your comfort zone and try something new—whether it’s repurposing pieces already in your closet or adding a fresh boutique fashion item that makes you feel alive again.
I was in a rut for a long time, wearing only athleisure. It was comfortable, and I justified it—I wasn’t going anywhere, I was working from home, and it made it easy to go for a walk whenever I wanted. But now I pause and think: I’m going outdoors. I’m going to Publix, where I always see people. I’m going shopping. I’m heading out for coffee. And now that I’m dressed and ready for the day, I find myself making choices that serve me better—and I feel good.
Life is meant to be lived beautifully, and you deserve to feel beautiful while living it. Who cares if there are a couple of things you camouflage? We all do. You are a shining light to the people around you.
