Your skincare is top-tier. Your home is a sanctuary. So why does your wardrobe feel like an afterthought?
If your closet feels overwhelming, if you’re unsure of your style, or if you don’t quite know how you want to present yourself, you’re not alone. We’ve all been there.
So, we do what feels safest—we keep everything. We hold onto clothes with emotional ties. We save pieces we hope will fit someday. We cling to that one outfit that made us feel incredible that one day.
And what happens? Every morning, we stand in front of a closet full of clothes and still feel like we have nothing to wear. Why? Because we’re unsure.
Recently, while working on my certification as an International Stylist and Color Expert, one of our assignments was to clean out our closets and organize them with intention. It was eye-opening, and I want to share the top three steps we followed—plus a crucial fourth step I added myself.
1. Don’t Get Stuck in the Past
Your wardrobe should reflect who you are now, not who you were five years ago. Styles change, bodies change, lifestyles change. Holding onto clothes that no longer align with your present self only clutters your space and your mind. Let go of what no longer serves you.
2. Evaluate Your Current Lifestyle
The clothes you wear should fit your life, not an imaginary one. If you spend most of your time traveling, working from home, or enjoying casual outings, your wardrobe should support that.
If you’re holding onto corporate blazers but now live in resort wear, it’s time to make a shift. Your closet should be filled with pieces that make sense for how you live today.
3. Only Keep Pieces That Make You Feel Good—Even on a Bad Day
This was my personal addition to the list, and it’s a game-changer. On those days when you’re tired, not feeling 100%, or just in a funk, there should be pieces in your closet that you know, without a doubt, will make you feel better.
If you wouldn’t reach for an item on a day like that, why are you keeping it?
4. Choose Colors That Elevate You
As a color expert, I also focused on keeping only the pieces in my personal color palette—the ones that truly complement my skin tone and make me look fresh and vibrant. The right colors can transform how you look and feel instantly.
If you try these steps and still feel unsure, I’d love to help you figure out which colors and styles will bring out your best. Book a consultation with me, and together, we’ll create a wardrobe that works for you, not against you.
No more uncertainty. No more closet overwhelm. Just effortless, confident style—every day.
